IN-OFFICE TEETH WHITENING
Today, a picture-perfect smile showing white teeth is the cornerstone of an appealing look. A healthy smile makes you look younger and radiates confidence. The popularity of teeth whitening is growing each year, but before you decide on this treatment, it’s worth doing your research to choose wisely from the different procedure options. It’s important to choose a reliable service, while the different procedures’ reviews and mechanism of action should also be taken into consideration. The price level of a trusted, professional whitening procedure reflects the standard of quality – it’s worth choosing a procedure which is in a higher price category, but safer.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING TEETH WHITENING
The results of teeth whitening are affected by individual differences, the primary factor being the patient’s basic tooth color. Teeth with a yellowish hue can produce excellent whitening results, while teeth with a greyish tint are less susceptible for these procedures.
Teeth can be sensitive in the first 24 hours following in-office whitening. Temporary sensitivity after treatment is a completely harmless phenomenon, caused by slight dehydration of the teeth caused by the therapy.
The rehydration process, however, is completed within a day, and the teeth regain their previous moisture content, which means the sensitivity gradually eases and then disappears completely. The final color is achieved on the third day following the whitening procedure.
The initially intense, snow-white color fades somewhat, and achieves a natural look within a few days. In the first 24 hours after the treatment, you should avoid eating “colorful” foods and drinks and stay away from smoking in order to protect your teeth from discoloration.
Failure to follow the dentist’s instructions can cause the teeth to discolor again, we cannot give you a guarantee against this. How long the whitening results last depends mainly on lifestyle and eating habits.
In an optimal case, you can maintain your brighter tooth color for up to 3-5 years and can repeat the treatment at that point.
IN-OFFICE TEETH WHITENING
PREVDENT LIGHT / UV-FREE IN-OFFICE TEETH WHITENING
The light used by this device has revolutionized teeth whitening, offering a safe, effective and gentle whitening procedure.
Within an hour, your teeth can become 4-6 shades brighter.
The patented BriteSmile lamp is not a laser device. It was specially developed to emit a gentle blue light on the tooth surface, activating the whitening gel and speeding up the whitening process. Blue light is clinically proven to be harmless on skin, gums, and on any other tissue.
It does not heat up tissues, nor does it emit harmful UV rays.
PREVDENT GENTLE TEETH WHITENING GEL
The gel is used in combination with the blue light to offer safe and perfect results to our patients. Contrary to the products used in other whitening procedures, which usually contain 35-50% hydrogen peroxide, PrevDent has a low active ingredient content and neutral pH value, it is thereby completely harmless to teeth.
A study carried out by the ADA (American Dental Association) has proven that whitening with BriteSmile is safe, effective and provides results which last for years. SoulDental – is the exclusive distributor of Brite Smile and PrevDent whitening technologies in Hungary.
OPALESCENCE BOOST TEETH WHITENING GEL
Opalescence Boost whitening gel offers a highly effective solution, as it contains 40% hydrogen peroxide. Despite this, it has a neutral pH balance – but for patients with particularly sensitive teeth we still recommend products with a different formulation. The bright red color of the product facilitates precise application and thorough removal. No lamp is needed for activation. One treatment session takes 15 minutes, which can be repeated up to four times in one sitting. This efficient preparation is only recommended to be used at professional dental clinics (in-office / in-chair treatment).
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW AFTER IN-OFFICE TEETH WHITENING
Avoid foods and drinks with a strong coloring effect for 48 hours after the whitening treatment. Your teeth need this time for the enamel layer to fully regenerate.
Contrary to popular belief, teeth whitening does not thin or erode the enamel of teeth, it only affects the discoloration.
You should avoid foods and drinks like red wine, black coffee, tea, beetroot, berries, etc. For this, apply facial cream first to the region that needs cooling, then wrap some bagged ice in a piece of cloth, and place it on the area for 5 minutes. In the same period, you should also abstain from smoking and from using lipstick.
